      This is because the area between Bedminster and Winterbourne is build on Redcliffe Sandstone which gives an intensely red colour to the soil and buildings.         Redcliffe is part of the division of Brisbane (Queensland's capital and largest city) and located approximately 28 kilometres (17 miles) north-northeast of the city's CBD. Before European settlement, the Redcliffe Peninsula was occupied by the indigenous Ningy Ningy people. I started writing this book over a year ago, when I made a mid-winter visit to the Blue Mountains for research and planning.
